Peter Todd joins the LinkedIn Influencers program
LinkedIn, the world's largest professional network, launched on 6th January its publication platform (LinkedIn Pulse) in French, and has selected 20 influential personalities from the French political and economic scene – including the Dean of HEC Paris – to share their insights and analyses.
Via the LinkedIn Pulse news feed, the 400 million members of LinkedIn, including the 10 million in France, have access to articles penned by 500 global personalities from the worlds of civil society, business, economics and politics. The list of influencers includes prominent figures such as Hillary Clinton, Bill Gates, Richard Branson and Barack Obama, as well as deans and professors of world-renowned universities.
Peter Todd will be sharing his opinions (in both French and English) on the education sector, including its economic and societal implications, and will add his management expertise.
"LinkedIn has become an indispensable network not only for finding a job, but also for researching universities and educational opportunities, and today for the sharing of ideas. It is for this reason that I am delighted to be participating in this project, and to be able to address such a highly-qualified audience, engaging in conversation about the high stakes of management education", underlined Peter Todd.
For LinkedIn, the objective is to make of the largest professional network "an indispensable place for unearthing information and analysis relevant to French professionals", stated Isabelle Roughol, international editor-in-chief of LinkedIn. "We are opening up a simple tool to 10 million members and influential leaders, allowing them to highlight their expertise", she explained.
The presence of Peter Todd amongst these “Influencers” will also allow HEC Paris to consolidate its presence on LinkedIn. Indeed, the school already makes great use of a powerful network, with a company page followed by 16,000 people, an Executive Education page followed by 17,590 people, and an University page with 63,000 followers, as well as an official group for HEC Alumni which brings together over 20,000 graduates from around the world. As highlighted recently in an article for Le Monde by Philippe Oster, Director of Communications at HEC Paris, LinkedIn’s investment in the education sector will bring about a "paradigm shift", particularly concerning international rankings of business schools.
