La soirée de la santé mentale : Crossed views on mental disorders
Participate
To get a clearer view on such a blurry topic, the Students’ Council invites you on Monday, March 16th, 7:30 p.m. in Blondeau (T building) to understand mental illness and get inspired by those who live with it.
What happens in your brain when it goes nuts? What goes through the mind of a bipolar person? What is it like, having a brother with schizophrenia? How on earth are we supposed to deal with mental health at work, when all they ask for is productivity?
According to the World Health Organization, one over four people in the world deal with mental troubles at some point in their lives. But misconceptions prevent us from understanding what they are, accepting diagnoses and helping people in the right way.
Program
- Testimonies on schizophrenia from Lucille Zolla, founder of the association « Schizophrenic and proud » and GRINGE, rapper and patron of Lucille’s association.
- “Madness and the norm”, a philosophical and sociological introduction to mental troubles by philosopher Olivia Gazalé.
- A conference from Nicolas Rainteau, psychiatrist: « Identifying mental troubles, handling them in the workplace.» He will give you the scientific knowledge to understand what happens and what to do when the brain is sick.
- A last testimony from Maxime Perez Zitvogel, founder of « Bipolar and proud » association: Healing by helping others.
The evening will be followed by a cocktail provided by l’Assauce, with champagne and HEC students DJs, to chat with the speakers and shake your misconceptions on the sound of music.
